For much of the past several weeks, it has felt as though the market had two stories. The biggest AI stocks could keep the major indexes standing, while many other stocks struggled to keep up. Monday looked different. Ten of the eleven major sectors rose, and smaller stocks joined the move.
That is worth noticing. It is not yet enough to call the market healthy.
The question now is whether leadership is spreading for good—or whether this is a few days of relief before the same problems return. That distinction matters more than whether the S&P 500 rises again tomorrow.
